May have to turn on my other computer in awhile/later tonight to help. In the mean time, what engine model? Year?

The merc 6.1-6.2 has the other type of engine mounted raw water pump The housing does not use the rod to open the valve, just has the blue drain plug.
Need to see the cooling system for those motors tp see if I can come up with a replacement part cheaper than what Merc wants.
Why in the world put plastic cooling parts on a boat.
If I eliminate the block and manifold drain hoses I can revert it back to standard winterizing procedures

Thankyou , the housing developed a crack where the blue drain plug goes ,stuck my fingernail in it and a chuck just cracked off.
Have to wait till I take it off and disect it. If there is no internal valving to direct the water flow It a brass and copper solder job. and a brass drain plug install
Photos to follow the procedure

From what I have seen with one opened up, it's just a hollow ball. If the guy has to keep it I might lean toward using a brass 4-way and some hose fittings on 3 of them, and the other install a drain on the bottom.

There was a guy here which used epoxy glue to put one back together. I asked him to advise if it held up over the season and next

If your correct I can build one from PVC or copper. Was test running the motors and saw the leak and found the crack, got disgusted for today. Solid rain tomorrow again, just cant seem to catch up with my customers

The engineering concept of this system is wonderful except:
If the drain hoses from the block and manifold get plugged up ,nothing drains properly. Also why would you put a check valve in the water inlet line? Makes no sense to me
Funny that for years all we did was get in there and remove some hoses and drain plugs, probed the drains to make sure they did drain and put the plugs back in.

Now the factory comes up with a system like this where all you do is pull 2 drain plugs to drain the whole system.
Didnt they think about when the system is plugged and nothing drains anymore ??????????

My guess is yes, but by then it would be out of warranty and they might get to sell more motors

dist housing is out and soon to be disected. Preliminary examination shows hollow from all 3 hose fittings. No internal restrictions felt

Autopsy results are in. Divertor housing is nothing but a empty plastic ball for $250.00 My attempt resulted in a all brass construction.
Will have the hose measurements and altercations in the next installment, but it appears the hose to the cool fuel unit is shortened 1 inch and the connector hose to the circ pump is just moved forward This in brass cost $107.33 A 1/8 inch pipe plug was drilled and tapped into the bottom of the T
You could substitute a street 90 and a 1 1/8 barb fitting if necessary.
! 1/4 90 Deg elbow for 1 1/8 hose.
1 1/8 hose barb to 1 1/4
1 1/4 3 way T
1 1/4 to 1 inch reducer
1 inch hose barb
