Re: Manuals - Getting Raked Over the Coals!

Boy, some are whiners! I was thrilled that Ken Cook had a manual (at any price) for my 1935 Evinrude Elto. As I recall, it was ~ $20 or less ... what a bargain, since there was almost nowhere else in the world to find one, and they delivered it in two days.

I guess some among us are unbelievably cheap and think the world owes them.

(BTW, what you did here is ALSO considered whining, and so is what I did here)

I wouldn't consider trying to find a cheaper manual exactly "unbelievably cheap". He came into this forum where his option was to purchase a $120 manual or a used unknown one from EvilBay......

but through much "whining" , I am sure he found one from/through somebody on here for much cheaper. Just goes to show that whining does pay off sometimes. I am never to proud to save money, I don't know about you rich folk.

If you like to just blow through money, I have an address that you can send it to :D

AND TO ALL WHO TALKED TRASH ABOUT HIM BEING CHEAP OR A TIGHT A**---I believe this WHOLE 'dam' forum is designed around people trying to save a buck or two and/or to avoid taking it to a mechanic, but I guess I could be the sole person that uses iBoats forums for that very reason, doubtful, but anything is possible I guess.

You don't save time or money with a crappy manual, but hey, the choice is yours. That was my point. Kind of like buying crappy tools.

I have bought 3 OMC manuals so far..and glad I did..I think of it as cost of manual vs cost of labor charge...

I have seen people on here that paid 175 + for a water pump installed...200 for a carb rebuild...

money saved doing your self
