Manufacture year of old evenrude

I recently purchased an old two cylinder Evenrude model 6039-27213. I found that this is a 22.5 HP built between 1939 and 1950. Is there any way to furthur pinpoint the year? Thanks.

Not that I know of, Tim. My source gives the same years you have, '39 to '50.

This guy has serial number 23654 which he claims is a '47. Perhaps he may be able to help with your serial number.<br /><br />The Antique Outboard Motor Club might be able to help too. Good luck!
