Manufacturing Date of old Johnson O/B

I have an old Johnson SeaHorse 7.5 hp outboard --- Serial #204104, Model #AD-10. Would anybody be able to tell me the manufacturing date? This outboard has been in the family since 1962, when my father acquired it. He believes it is mid to late 50s vintage.

It has been well maintained and still runs quietly and reliably, but I would like to spruce up the appearance by repainting the cowling and shaft housing. So far, no dealer has been able to find the paint spec for it --- it is that maroon colour that was common on older Johnsons. Is it possible to order some touch-up paint somehwere, or would an autobody supply store be able to mix up something close?

Your motor is a 1956. I am in the process of rebuilding a '56 model FD-10 15 HP. I got paint and decals from Peter at nymarine.ca, I am sure he will have everything for you and your motor. Good Luck
