Mapcreate 6 and lowrance LCX15MT

Can somebody please tell me how to get a map I created with Map create 6.0 and transfered to the MMC card and inserted it in my Lowrance LCX15 MT GPS depthfinder. It shows it is there when you brouse the MMC card with the finder but cannot access it ar get it to show up. I do not have the owners manual ( came with used boat purchase) and have been looking at the manual for days 86 pages long but cabbot find out how it is done. I have been tinkering for 3 days with different settings.

I can create the way points but I cannot get them to show up in the GPS of the finder. It says in the instructions save the map border to the MMC card and insert in Lowrance then when turned on they will be on the screen but I get nothing to that as I get the same Worls map with my GPS location arrow no map of the lake area I created.

I wonder if you unit is compatible with Mapcreate, is your 15 upgraded to the latest software, see if it's latest version......

My unit came with mapcreate 6 as it is the LCX 15 MT from the factory. I will check the softwear update.

Are you useing the Lowrance MMC card reader writer??

I herd it will not work if you do not use their unit. A after market reader writer will not work.

I would call Lowrance Support and see what they have to say.

MMC is a standardized data exchange format used on a lot of electronic devices. If they tell you that a non-Lawrence reader will not work they are full of it.

I bought a USB 2.0 MMC card reader at Best buys for under $10 and it works perfectly.

Correct most non card readers do not work......

Go to Lowrance and get the manual and as long as you are there get the LCX 15 Demo "emulator" so you can learn on your computer....

My guess is you will have to go into the menu "LCX 15" and select map data or something like that....if not it may not be compatible, I know the 15 does not work with the newer Lakemaster and Navionics Lake mapping Chips.

You have to use the Lowrance MMC card reader/writer.

Why do I need the LEI card reader/writer to use MapCreate™ 6.3?
The files created by the new MapCreate™ programs are encrypted to memory cards to prevent copying of the licensed copyrighted mapping data. Many MMC/SD card readers/writers do not have the ability to securely encrypt data onto memory cards. Hence, the LEI card reader will be necessary to save the created files in an operational format.

In my case, the card reader for my camera worked just fine in writing these cards, so I know you don't necessarily have to have the LEI reader it just depends on which reader you have. Also the LEI reader would not work on my pc at all (may be in conflict with the existing reader).

There are some options within the map menus to read the stored maps, you may have to manually select the map
