Garmin has several models that do, or can do with options, both, Jumper.

Re: Marine/Auto gps

I had the Lowrance Xog for awhile it was a good unit but battery life sucked and it had an onboard rechargeable.. I now have a Garmin Colorado 400c with topo maps, city nav, lakes and coastal it uses AA batteries and i just buy rechargeables and cycle the 8 batteries.. to be honest I dont use it outside of the boat.. Also think of all the bodies of water you boat on and look up to see what manufactures support those bodies and buy a product compatible with those maps. I would go separate you can get a tom tom one for 99.99 these days and get a good marine unit..

Not so, Jumper. It depends on what you start with.

My Garmin GPSMAP 276C is basically a marine unit. The upgrade makes it an auto navigator.

Some other units start as auto units and can be upgraded to do marine.

Go to the Garmin site and check out the options.
