As I was priming my carb today before trying to fire it up for the first time in a couple seasons, it dawned on me that the vent tube did not bend over & point into the throttle bore, as I was filling the float bowl via the straight vent tube. The part # on the mercruiser tag & the stamped code # all check out to be for the year, model & serial # of the engine & the picture in the Sierra catalog of their replacement is the same as mine so I guess I'm ok. I just figured they all had the "J" type vent tubes, but apparently not. Scared me, I thought I was going to have to by a new carb.
