Does anyone know the difference in marine cranking amps and cca or cranking amps? I hope the marine equals cca, but I doubt it.

Kev

Re: marine cranking amps

CCA = number of amperes a battery can supply for 30 seconds at a temperature of 0 degrees F until the battery voltage drops to 1.20 volts per cell

MCA = number of amperes a battery can supply for 30 seconds at a temperature of 32 degrees F until the battery voltage drops to 1.20 volts per cell

CA = number of amperes a battery can supply for 30 seconds at a temperature of 80 degrees F until the battery voltage drops to 1.20 volts per cell

The same battery looks a lot better on paper if it is rated in MCA or CA rather than CCA. BEWARE!!!
