I am searching for (2) kinds of people through many Marine forums. First and foremost, I wish to locate a person who has veteran experience in the Marine Dealership environment, and secondly, I wish to locate an individual who works in this industry (management) who may possibly wish to partner a joint venture. I am looking into starting a new Marine Dealership somewhere on the coast of Florida. Location will actually depend on marketing feedback. I am looking for the best in the Industry that can help in my venture. Every favor is returned. I am from the old school, so (my word) is solid. Any help you can provide will truly be helpful. If you need further information to increase your potential to help, please contact me at (dwaldenII@tampabay.rr.com). Thank you so much.

Re: Marine Dealership

I am sorry, but aren't forums used for networking? I certainly don't have to explain myself to you, but I am indeed searching for good people to bring aboard. If the server wishes to excuse me, then I will politely back out.

So, are you looking for an employee, a partner, or investors?
Not a good selling point trying to solicit money for a business not yet started, not yet scoped out, not even geographically organized.
Good luck with your venture, hope you find the people or person your looking for. I for one will keep my meager little earnings in my bankers pocket.

And the mods certainly wont have to explain why they locked this topic.Or why it is not used for networking

Re: Marine Dealership

It is apparent that you all wish to judge a man just through his words. Arrogant? If you knew me that comment would seem a little strong. Now some Marines would think of me as this, but being a retired 1st SGT, it comes with the package. We shoot straight and we don't like to beat around the bush so to speak. So if this is arrogant to you, then so be it. One individual asked me if I was seeking a partner etc. The money is already there, the marketing is in process, site acquisition is lined up and ready to go. I am simply trying to locate (decent) people through the so called (network). Well, at any rate, I seem to already have a sense that this forum will never provide the "professional" demeanor which I seek. I will pull the plug on my account immediately and am greatly sorry that I apparently stirred up the waters. If you think that your future postings will be read by me, you are mistaken. I wouldn't waste my time as I am now obviously.

WOW, you people sure are something.
I thought he was doing great, and looked forward to any responses he would get.

The only problem I saw, is that he was looking for help to start a business, that would compete with iboats for sales. Thought iboats might frown upon that.

Actually, iboats frowns on the use of the forums for any commercial activity.

Well, good luck to you Popeye, hit the marine dealer conventions, and contact the boat/motor manufacturers for leads on possible partners.

I must have missed something. Although somewhat solicitation, it seemed like a pretty honest question to me........I for one give him some credit for trying to start a business. Good luck

Re: Marine Dealership

looked like to me he was looking for an honest person to run his venture. If he had the capitol and the location....I got out of it he was looking for a person experienced in the marine industry with management knowledge.

Seems to me people would have been talking to him if they were interested in joining a start-up company.....

I think y'all kind of jumped him pre-maturely!

Re: Marine Dealership

He seems a little thin-skinned to be running his own biz. A marine dealership in Florida! How novel! ;) Why didn't I think of that....Of course I have been busy with my own start-up....Shipping coal to Kentucky... :D ...JK

I think Popeye's original request seemed perfectly legitimate and well put. If I wasn't on the wrong continent, I would have called him myself.

Too bad his first impression of this forum became such a poor one.

If he's for real; best of luck to him in his business venture!

Re: Marine Dealership

A perfect example of why some are truly successful, and others will never be.

Read the post geniuses. He was looking for people, not capital (money). He thought maybe that this was a good resource to find some good talent in the industry. You proved him wrong. He doesn't care at all what your opinions are. He was looking for brains in the marine industry, and apparently didn't find a whole lot.

Too many losers are taking over message boards to make themselves feel important. If you need an ego booster, don't come here. A lot of you guys showed exactly who you are. These forums are quickly becoming a joke. There are too many dumb dipsh*ts who are using this message board to feel like they have an ounce of power or notoriety. I read a post recently where someone had a simple, straightfoward repair question. The guy was inundated with a bunch of attitude from the start, with little knowledge on how to fix his problem.
