Force (which was by Merc, right?), OMC, Mercruiser,

Thanks all for satiating my curiosity & educating me :)

Force was what became of Chrysler- Bayliner bought them out.
Mercury has/had a line of O/B's called Mariner. Mercruiser is Mercury Marine's division for their I/O's.
OMC was formerly the holding company for the brands Evinrude and Johnson, which I believe are now owned by Bombardier (ski doo snowmobiles, aircraft engines, etc...)

If you really want some interesting trivia, delve into the world of old outboard brands. There were probably hundreds of them since the early 1900's. Scott-Atwater, Martin, Wards, Sears, McCullough, etc......

And to go with that, merc bought force, during the mid '90's there were branded merc engines that were almost all force technology. Force was slowly phased out by 1998 or so.
