My gas gauge pegs on empty with 1/2 tank. I replaced the connectors on the sender and the entire ground wire and connectors. No change.

I think the gauge is wired properly.

The sender wire could be making a bad connection. Would that cause a lower then empty indication?

Bad sender? Stuck sender float? What makes sense to try?

Pull the sender and cover hole to keep fumes from building

Connect the wires to sender, turn key ON (don't start) move sender up down and watch gauge

When full or near full my old sender would read empty empty on the gauge. I'd pull it and check the resistance sweep with a meter and then go from there. It could also be a bad ground... I assume this is one of the units that grounds through a staple in the gasket?

The best part of this is that you will never run out of gas :ROFLMAO:

European senders are 180 ohms . . . US senders are 240 ohms. I am wondering if it a gauge/sender mismatch

Check that the float actually floats . Sender resistance and connections can be fine but if the float dont float ......
