SAE J1171 is not the type of trim pump. It's just a spec. that says the electric motor is ignition protected and ok to use in the engine compartment of a gas engined boat.

Wiring diagram is not a problem, but, is it a single solenoid or dual solenoid pump?

That's the way they are supposed to be. An up and a down on each side. They also have to be hooked up to the manifold under the drive correctly. Have you had them off and possibly in the wrong place?

Re: marine SAE J1171 trim pump HELP

for some reason the picture wont enlarge for me? but i have had the connector off and replaced 1 of the lines back to the trim pump the lines going from the connector to the trim pump where line a fiber type? and had to replace them 1 is wire braided and the other is all metal. i did blead those when i put it back on. the pump in the picture i posted is from my boat the new one i put on there is from my old boat its year is 1974 and the 2 pumps almost look the same but the seloniods look diffrent the one in the picuter i have posted has the 2 extra parts on the seloniod.. so i dont know if the boat should have 2 selonionds or just the one. also the 74 trim pump was hooked up to a trim sender on the old boat and my newer boat does not have one not sure if i should install one on this boat or just put the old pump back in. and the old pump does still work.

The file is a .pdf file (Adobe Acrobat) and should download automatically to your computer wherever you have it set to go. It's not going to open like a .jpg picture.

Those wires only go to the gauge, not part of the trim pump wiring.
