I Just bought another Starcraft. 1989 Islander 191 V 3.0L Mercruiser. My other boat I used Nautolex marine vinyl (which I liked) it just can't stand up to the beating I deliver. Any reccommendations as far as floor coverings. I already have ruled out paint and sand, carpet, and vinyl. What I am looking for is a roll on or spray on bedliner type product that has been used (not just heard about) in a stomp around fish sliming environment. Marine vinyl in one year already has slash marks through it otherwise I'd use it again. Looking for more long term. Have seen ads for grizzly grip has anyone had on for more than a year? Pro's/Cons

I used Durabak. Great product( though spendy). Make sure you seal the wood good or it could delaminate

A fishing buddy of mine did his 84' Islander with roll on bedliner and likes it. It does wear though but he just touches up the wear areas each spring. I'm going with it when I replace my deck.

I went to the Durabak website. Stuff looks sweet. Couple questions to those that have been in boats w/ it. Do you start to slide around when the deck gets slippery? And I noticed that they sell "UV" protected products; do they tend to harden up after a while? I don't mind the cost of doing it, I'd just like to do it once. Finally, can you reapply this product to touchup ares that have seen high wear. Baryll I noticed you had a friend that used a product do recall what that was?

No slippage when wet. Great traction. Not too bad on bare knees either.

Sorry for the late reply - I was on his boat fishing yesterday and he couldn't remember what is was, thought it was Duraliner. Said he won't us it again because it gets scuffed up with black shoes. I think it works great. We had fish on the bottom of his Islander, 2 to 3 footers on Saginaw Bay, and it was still solid footing. Pros and Cons to everything, I go for what works and others go for looks and sometimes you find both

Thanks Guys,
Ordered and just got the Durabak today (Light Grey). I'll try to get some pics when finished. I'm pretty geeked. They use this stuff on helicopter pads and Alaskan Boats. Baryll, you fishing the Labadie tourny? I'm in, we're even shaving a back hair tank top in one of my buddies (yes a back hair tank top). It will smell like fish. Thanks for everyones help. Hopefully this won't be a slippery walleye summer.

The only tourney I'm in right now is the big fish contest out of Northport. We weighed a 7.46 pounder on Monday. My dad is having surgery so everything is kinda of left open for now. Good luck with the Durabak and let us know how it works for you.
