this post is not ment to insult anyone but point out that for many of us going to a MARINE mech was the start of are problem not are salvation<br /><br />as a trained marine mech i can saftely say that both the auto and marine trades have both many good tecks and many hacks and the only way to find out is with your wallet<br /><br />haveing bought 3 new boats over the last 20 years 2 sail boats and 1 merc i/o boat i can say with my wallet that two of the biggest dealers on long island 1 sail and 1 power give service so bad they should not be allowed to sell or service boats and the only way my problems were solved were fixing them myself<br /><br />on the other hand there is at least one world class merc service center but that is the problem both sell so many boats that in my case my conplaints to merc and the boat builder fell on deaf ears<br /><br />i do no a good service place now but as stated before it required my wallet to find out<br /><br />at least with a car you deal GM or FORD or who ever made the car<br /><br />with my boats it seams to bounce between the boat builder and the motor builder with no clear lines of whos problem it is<br /><br /><br />tommays
