Marine wood recommendation

I have a 97' Crownline bowrider. The engine compartment has a large cover across the back of the boat that is cushioned on the top and a marine wood on the bottom. It is attached to the back of the boat with 2 large piano hinges, however the bolts/anchors have stripped from the cover. I think my best option is to attach a new piece of marine wood to the bottom of the cover then re-attach the hinges.

Does anyone have a recommendation of which type of wood I should use?
