Hello All,
My first post so I hope I'm posting in the right spot. I'm looking to buy a Mariner 25cm 695s005881. I think this is a 1981? I have a chance to grab this motor for under $200.00, but it has low compression on one cylinder. My concern is when I look for parts for this motor they all seem to be "obsolete ". Does anyone know if this is the case? And if so is this motor even worth a shot? Or is this gonna be a headache?
Thanks in advance for any help.

Thanks so much ondarvr...I kinda suspected that...Not to go off topic, but as you can see I'm looking for a cheap project 25 hp motor for the winter. In your opinion what would be a good choice? Ease of service, parts availability, etc,,.?
Thanks again.

2 cylinder Johnson / Evinrude basically the same from 1985 to 2005.-----Easy to work on and lots of parts available, new and used.

Well that's confusing. I looked around and everything I read said it was all Japanese parts on this model and it was tough to get parts....passed on it anyway, but thanks
