Hi fellow boaters
My 60 Bigfoot has 1000 hours on her, and runs great, or well.. it starts perfect, powerfull WROOOMM when it's cold!
But out at sea, after a stop, it has sometimes started to start, and the stall out right away on me. And has to have idle gas and three cranks in order to fire up. But only sometimes, last two days it has gotten worse I believe. The HP fuel pump I used to be able to hear, is now so quiet, I have to have the hood off, in order to hear it buzz on ignition. It can also start, and then surge RPM up and down for 3 secs, before it finds a steady idle pace.
Running in forward gear and idle RPM, Idle Air Controller says "fuub fuub fuub..." it is running, even at slightly more than idle, why? Is it supposed to do so? It didn't do so a month ago.
The fuel distribution unit says "PAC PAC PAC" loud, loud as in, if it wasn't so loud, the engine would run almost quiet. Is there a fix to this super annoying problem?
And the strangest of all, i checked level of hydraulic fluid in the trimunit, seem slightly over the top, some spilled out, so I quickly put the plug back in. But now when laying still hydraulics works ok, a tad slow perhaps, but it raises the engine up, all the way. But when saying, hydraulic pump runs, but it's like it can't get the engine anywhere. If I lay still and trim it up, so prop touches the surface of the water, and revs it in gear, it forces the engine back down some inches.
I have tried to raise it all the way up and down 4 times, in order to purge for air, no luck!
Looking forward to something helpful
