mariner leaking gear oil and water

I have a 1995 40hp Mariner, I jusr replaced the impeller, with all the gaskets and pump base, now my lower gear oil and water are somehow mixing and going all over the place, I have new seals and gaskets too. any suggestions

Did you get the base assembly out and if so, how did you do it?
