My son purchased a used boat recently and I am helping him with the outboard engine on it. I have some experience with boat engines, so I figured I could help him with this one. But we cannot find any information on the engine. I have searched this forum and multiple sites with no luck. The number off it are Mariner 40EL 6E9 L 422564 and a photo of the plate on the side is included.
We are looking for service manuals and information on maintenance, tune-up, fuel filter information and things like it. New plugs were in the boat, but we have no gap information. I told him to change out the fuel filter and check the oil in it and add grease to the grease fitting on the shaft.
