I have a leaking cylinder on the power trim on a 75 HP Mariner outboard (around 1994 - black fluid cap). Apparently parts are no longer available and the dealer is trying to sell the entire assembly. My power trim works great ad has had little use, so I am trying to fin someone to rebuild the cylinder. Any ideas

Yeah they quit selling the seal kit too. The top of ram is a kind of unusual place to spring a leak. It's is a relatively oversized design with respect to some of the internal parts. Most people would have drift down, debris, or trim spool problems before sprouting a leak. Is there any particular reason the top of your ram might have felt stressed? You're going to want take a caliper and check the center hole for roundness.

No. Nothing strange. Trim was working great when it went into storage. When I raised the motor up to put my transom saver on my trailer I saw the leak. I cycled it a couple times and it seemed to be better, but I figured there is enough oil in the water these days and I should fix it before I launch it and put on my boat lift. Trim cycled normally when I was troubleshooting...

Not sure what parts you are looking for, but Crowley marine shows pricing for the shock rod kit (8M0005542) which is all of the internal parts in the cylinder except the memory piston. $260. You'll have to check using your motor year and serial number to make sure it's the right part.

Fort Lauderdale Marina lists the Cylinder end cap assembly (813428) for 92.75 if that works for your trim unit.

If you are just looking for the rebuild kits, do a search on those part numbers. Just cause one place shows no longer available, doesn't mean nobody else doesn't have it.

I have the same problem with my 115 hp power trim. The cilynder is leaking from the very top. I was curious how you got a fix for this?

Thanks,
