Martin 7.5 Twist shift

I'm trying to remove the drive shaft & mid leg from a Martin 7.5 Twist-Shift. I have already gotten the LU off. Does the shaft just slide out...and doesn't because it's frozen in place....or I'm I missing something here? Also, I did disconnect the neutral linkage from the small inspection plate. It looks like a "water pick-up tube" may be locked in place...possibly?

No worries...it was the water pickup tube holding everything back. I was able to free it up with a little coercion.
