Congratulations to Zach Johnson on his first major win with some big guns in the pack.He seems like a real down to earth humble fella.Mickelson didn't seem too genuinely gracious when he put the jacket on him.I guess he hadn't recovered yet from that triple bogie on #1.Woods was fortunate to finish with both arms still attached after that ballsy shot from the rough where he had to sacrifice an iron around a tree trunk to pull the shot off.Several players had a realistic shot at the title on the back nine but it just wasn't their day.

Re: Masters

I watched it. Johnson played very well, under a lot of pressure. I kept expecting Woods to make a surge at the end, but he never did. He may be a mere mortal after all.

Michelson, when he put the green jacket on Johnson, said "Good job out there today". Not sure what you would want him to say. He's a competitor, and I'm sure he would have rather been accepting the trophy rather than giving it away.

Johnson seems like a nice kid, and I'm glad his faith is important to him. I'm not sure Jesus cares very much who wins a million dollar golf tournament, however.

Re: Masters

Anybody else catch Sabbatini's put on #8 for Eagle? That may have been the sweetest put I've ever seen. Not the most clutch, but really cool . . .

I think it was typical Tiger as he was in the hunt even with his B game. Definitely not over until 17 . . .

Re: Masters

I did. It was incredible. It's just one shot, but what a shot it was, like Tiger's chip shot a couple of years ago. I suspect it was more lucky than good, but it was dramatic.

That putt had to have 20 ft of break in it - unbelievable, man!

Tiger only made 3 good swings in a row all day - on #13 for the eagle. Thought he was gonna gack up the short putt though - it was that kind of day for him.

Re: Masters

Interesting that our expectations of Tiger are soooooo high that he has a "bad day" to finish T-2 at The Masters.

He made several spectacular shots but as Stevieray said, he failed to string them together.

The course was brutal all 4 days. They looked like they were putting on a wavy and tilted skating rink. So many putts that missed by under an inch.

Zach played well and was consistent. Virtually every other player was inconsistent.

That's what I meant by my poorly worded "B" game comment. They say when he brings his "A" game, everyone else is playing for 2nd . . .

It just shows how talented he really is. When he isnt playing his best, he still manages to stay in contention. Then you look at others (Phil Michelson for example) and they were done as soon as they had a really bad first round. To me that is what seperates Tiger from the rest of the field. He rarely ever plays himself out of a chance at being near the top.
