Material for lower unit mounting bolts?

I just had a thread job done for lower unit mounting bolts, and the decision was made to use M8 size instead as my lower unit is from a later model with larger bolts.

Now I'll just have to pick up suitable bolts to use from a local shop and what material should I use? SS 316?
