matrix 67 gps problem

I have the new this year Matrix 67 Humminbird gps/sonar<br />the screen refreshes every 15-20 seconds while in the gps mode only, Is there a setting I have missed to stop this b---sh-- and it only does it while in the gps mode only, sometimes the screen comes bach missing important details like DEPTHS and ROCKS etc, does anyone else have this piece of crap????

Ahoy musky hunter!! When in need of a combo sounder/plotter, I researched all the various mfg's and in the process learned that the Matrix 67 is prone to software issues. Some of the vendors told me they had to remove them from the shelf and return to Humminbird for updates. Not sure of all the gory details, but don't sound pretty. A couple of the folks I forum'd with said they liked them, but overall, the units don't sound very dependable. Most folks recommended the Garmin units for anything dealing with GPS. If you want to spend a few more $$$, try SI-TEX, FURUNO, etc. Buy a new ST.CROIX rod, it'll make you forget the pain!!
