maumee bay walleye run

I want to take my starcraft ss18 out on maumee bay for the walleye spring run
as i dont have a kicker and it is a boat i dont want to go to far out . So my question is how far out do you go, i will be launching from cullen park. plan on having a vhf radio and ll the usual saftey equipment.

You don't have to go out that far, u should be good, I don't no ur boat, but if it has high sides, a deeper version u'll be fine, my old boat is 18.3. I go out all year, sometimes 9-15 miles. You'll see boats out there ,like by Turtle ISL. Good luk, and remember water is cold, more dangerous,

mine is a deep v aluminum . where is turtle island from the light house? Light house is what 4 miles out from toledo . probably fish 3 guys out of the boat would like to get a gps fishfinder and vhf radio, but dont know if that will be possible.

can't miss Turtle, its west sw of lite house, very shallow in bay tho, be careful, and check weather reports, I should of mentioned that in last post. I don't go out from cullens, so i dont no exact distance to Lt. house. But u usually dont have to go out that far, U'll see boats out there, If u have graph, look 4 humps and holes. U'll drift , catch fish, when it slows ,go back over to make another drift. I use drift sock, U can also get a map at any bait shop in area, will show locations, and depth ranges, maybe not 100% accurate, but will help to give u an idea of area. Be safe , good fish n
