My 2002 9.9 Mercury bigfoot sailpower 4 stroke will only develope 2000 rpm WOT.<br />Infact the motor doesn't increase in RPM over 2000 at 3/4 throttle when the throttle is<br />increased to WOT. The motor runs good up to 3/4 throttle, just NOTHING more as the throttle<br />is increased to WOT. All linkage has been checked and is opening as it should both on<br />the throttle lever and at the motor on the carb. The motor is on a 3800 pound sailboat <br />that had a old Johnson 2 stroke 9.9 on it that had no problem with wide open throttle.<br />Could I be over proped? I have a 10 3/8 x 9 prop that came with the motor on it now.<br />I also think that there is somewhere a rev limiter at 2000 if the oil is low, but I check and <br />double check the oil and all is OK.<br /> I added a remote throttle and shift kit from Mercury <br />to this motor when it was new so I don't have anything to go by as to how it would run <br />with the orignal throttle on the tiller hooked up.<br /><br />ANY help or suggestions?<br /><br />Thanks in advance<br /><br />John
