Re: Max RPM for Evinrude 110

Welcome aboard!
When this engine was designed, we had a much higher quality of fuel available, unlike today, and the recommended range was 4500-5500.
We've found over the years that due to the lower quality fuel (don't confuse this with lower octane) the engines are lasting longer, with less build-up if we prop them for around 5800RPM, even 6000 with a normal load. 5500RPM would be the minumum RPM you would want for best engine life.

Thanks!!! It is turning 6000 now, so I guess that we are correct with the prop. Interesting that with lower quality gas, that we can turn a higher RPM.

It has to do with combustion temps and engine life.
