So I got my motor running pretty well, fires right up, idle is a bit high at about 900 in gear in the water. Holeshot is good and max rpms on the lake yesterday was 5200. I would like to set my max timing advance per the Joe Reeves method, but am unable to find the max timing advance spec. I have a factory service manual, and it says the spec is located on a decal on the motor. I am unable to find this decal, and suspect it is long gone.

Should anyone know the max advance spec for a Johnson J150tlcte 1983 model I would definitely appreciate it!

Well, there is not any interest in this, but, I found the data on a pic I took while swapping powerheads. Max advance is 34 degrees. I have the factory manual, and it says the spec is located on the motor! The "new" powerhead did not have the sticker.
