I know someone with a wet transom core but the wood is in very good condition.

My idea is to draw a vacuum at the bottom, drill 1/2 inch relief holes along the transom top. Suck the moisture out over a couple of days, then run acetone through it to displace remaining moisture, then finish with low visc epoxy, drawing it through with the vac pump.

I have seen marginal stringers dried out.
With the engine out and the mounts removed, halogen lamps were applied for a week. When dried, epoxy was inserted.
At this point though, I think it would have been easier and better to replace the stringers on that particular boat.

pnce wet, and rot started it will continue. it may be a temp fix, but it will take a while to get water out of wood. dried woods, tendency is to absorb water, not expell it.
