ok i have a 1970 rude 85 h/p well what happend was that a fwe weeks ago i had proublems with my carbs b/s at about 1/4 throttle it would just fall flat on its face . so i rebuilt the carbs and ran it for a coupple weeks. now i have a proublem that every now and then when at full throttle it will run fine for a coupple min then it just falls on its face like it did before i re built the carbs so my question is do you think that i dident do the carbs right or could it be somthing else ?????????

something else,if it will get up and go on and off,something else.Check your fuel lines for leaks,if you have any filters clean or change them,when the problem starts,squeeze the ball and if it gets better,likely the fuel pump is going,also,be sure your tank vent is working ok,if it cant vent the motor cant suck sufficent fuel,you may also have something floating around in your fuel tank that at times gets sucked onto the end of the pick up tube,if you can borrow a portable fuel tank see how it runs using it,that can eliminate the engine being the problem

if i do use another tank and it still does the same thing how do you go about testing t he pump????

you would need a pressure tester,but they are rebuilable,and I'm pretty sure your engines pump is reasonably priced,look on iboats for a replacement,if it hasnt been changed in the last few yrs.it will likely be going soon if its not now.If you have a manual,(or library)they tell you how to test them,but its just a couplepieces orf rubber inside.

ok her it is i have tried the seperate tank and still the same thing so i have ruled out the hoses and the tank/filter .so i bought a rebuild kit and it dident come with a exploted view or any thing like that so i took it apart and with the frustration of the 98 degre day and the wife i cant for the life of me figure out how to put it back togerher and with no luck looking on the web my question is were can i find a schematic of some kind. or could it be explaned .........please ........please help
