The biggest factor here is that engine rpm is pretty much irrelevent as you can only spin a propeller so fast before they don't work anymore.

Saw that video a while back. That's a major crap load of a novelty custom engine stuffed into that boat. Too bad the stock Wankels can't put enough torque together to be practical for boating.

I agree with the idea of a jetboat motor. But like people say on here, 5k rpm is your max on the outdrive. On a jet prop, you're pretty much limitless. And i've heard of a well balanced rotary spinning 25k rpm. Rare and expensive, but possible. So if you REALLY want to try it, give it a shot in the jet prop system.
