I screwed up! I recently purchased the MBS gimbal bearing installer and alignment tool. I didn’t see the instructions as they were stuck to the inside of the box. Bottom line is, I pulled my old gimbal bearing before obtaining the measurement in order to drill the hole for the installation driver. I have a 2007 boat, purchased it new and everything is original. So, seeing as how I would think all alpha one gen II drives should be the same. Has anyone used this tool on that drive and if so, can they send me the measurement of where the hole should be drilled? If anyone has any other suggestions, it would greatly appreciated.

The idea is to set it where you won't be hammering the coupler before the gimbal is seated. You can measure your way to a proper placement. Stick the alignment bar in, pull it out a 1/4 inch - plenty of room. Mark the alignment bar at the seat bottom in the gimbal housing where the gimbal bearing bottoms out. Pull the alignment bar out and set the driver the thickness of the gimbal bearing further up the shaft.

Rick, thanks so much for the help. I had measured several ways to identify the best possible course of action, but never considered that option, nor took in account for the alignment tool bottoming out.
Thanks Again!

I don't really understand why MBS doesn't drill the hole. I have the MBS alignment tool but don't have the tools to drilled the hole. It was cheaper for me to buy a tool that didn't require drilling.
