MC-1 Propeller/Thrust Hub Seal?

All, I am replacing my aluminum prop with a stainless steel prop of another identical MC-1 drive. My aluminum prop has a rubber seal that mates up to the thrust hub. The stainless prop has what appears to be the remnants of a seal in the same location. I can't find a seal in the Mercruiser Service Manual Vol. II page 6A-3. (Perhaps the wrong section?) Does anyone know a part number for this seal or know where it is listed in the service manual? If it is not a seal, what is it?

Thank you.

There Are different thrust hubs,..... If it fits, it's right, if it looks wrong, it's probably the wrong one,.....

Hello Bondo. Thanks for the response; now I am really confused...;-) It looks like it could be a big fat O-ring; perhaps it is something a P.O. had put in there for whatever reason? If it is not needed, that's just as well. Here is a photo:

Thank Bondo. Looks like there are no worries. The newer prop will go on.

All the best.

There are a few thrust hubs, only the correct one fits without damaging anything

I installed the stainless prop, and it works a treat! Just wanted to close out the thread. Thanks!
