well, i put my drive back on today. went on easy as pie 1st try. couldn't ask for any more.
only thing i found odd was the trim rams.
pretty sure i left them fully retracted at winterization. maybe gave it a little bump off full in and then left it. over the winter both rams extended. by themselves. port one about an inch. starboard one maybe two inches. round abouts.
initially i tried to bring them both in to no avail. then tried extending them but they continued to be extended different lengths. never did go to full out though. anyways, after i put the drive on and got down to hookin up the rams. i was eventually able to get them the same length and get the pin through. ran it through a cylcle or two up full out, full in. never did get full in. they were maybe and inch out yet. then had the sweety operate the switch in while i stood on the drive. that got'em to retract. ran it another 3 or so time, full out, full in w/o issue.
so my question is what caused this to occur. the rams extending out over the winter, unevenly even. is this something that's gonna come to haunt me?
my speculation is internal resistance from having left them slightly out as for the reason they'd not fully retract. but they did extended by themselves. other option i suppose that could be is air in the system? didn't check the oil today but did the other day. looked like fresh motor oil. which is what i put in there.
any words of wisdom.
