I am about to replace the leaf springs on a trailer. It is a Venture. My boat is on the trailer and I don't have any plans to put it in anytime soon...I was wondering if anyone had a way to measure what the size of leaf springs I need with the boat on the trailer...I might be able to put the boat in in a couple weeks...I don't have any idea how to measure the size...ANy help would be appreciated..thanks

Re: Measuring Leaf Springs

You need to measure the width will either be 13/4 or 2 in. the length will be eye center to center and make sure to measure the distance from the center of the front eye to the center bolt in them.

Do I need to measure these distances when the trailer is not under a load?

If you are planning on ordering on line I would say yes to your question. If you are going to a trailer parts shop take a spring off and take it with you, this will gaurante the right ones. Are the spring you have now a double eye, or single eye with a slipper on the back end?
