Iv been dealing on a 1979 larson with a 260 mercruiser and was told it needs a new reverse shift cable. Was told it has forward and neutral but when moved to reverse it still goes forward. Is it possable to shift by hand to see if it does go into to gear and that the cable is the problem? The boat is 300 miles from where I live and not being out board wise would like to know what I can do to check it out if possable. thanks Dale
