Re: medical forum recommendation

My neighbor had someone drop off a load of firewood, and they stacked it
along his driveway. I asked him where from, as it looked like real nice wood.
He said if I wanted it, he would give me a good deal on it. The pieces were
mostly smaller than what he wanted for his fireplace. So, I went for it.

I mean, I had to load it into my utility trailer, drive it only a couple hundred
feet, unload it, and then stack it. For 2 cords of wood, that's a lot of work
for this maturing person. Anyway, I am managing with it, although I am in no
hurry to chop some pieces that are bigger, and you can put that off, too.

Pain around the ribs is not a laughing matter, and glad you saw a doc.
Now, you can laugh at the posts for awhile.

muscle strains, and sprains, can be much more painful, than a fracture or break.

TD, although I still don't believe it, you're 110% right.

Thought I do one last post since a few of the guys have been asking...
I went to my GP this morning and he pretty much confirmed what the hospital said. The bottom line is a sprained muscle - whichever one attaches from the ribcage around back on up to the shoulder blade - sounded like an anterior serrated steak to me - I don't do good with long Latin words.
While Sat. & Sun. were simply pure he**, today is much better...didn't need the wife once! Been using heat and doing nothing (which is driving me crazy). Coughing is about the only thing left that causes searing pain. Since I smoke, this is a frequent occurrence (got a scrip for Chantix while I was there).
Haven't used any drugs today - only have a few left and figured I might need them to fall of tonight (for a change). I have learned that there are a few people on the forum at anytime of the night! Thanx for the company.
The kid across the street has been checking everyday humping my firewood for me. I feel funny with some else having to do my chores...not my style. I can't imagine being incapacitated and having to rely on some else. I suppose I'll have to send him a Xmas card or something now.:) But I'm starting to fell better and hopefully I'll be causing damage out in the shop in no time.
Thanks much everyone.
