After viewing the members list and reviewing join dates and post counts it's come to my attention that some of the members here may have dependency/addiction issues.

That coupled with the potentially addictive aspect of the iboats forums (which BTW post no issue when used responsibly). The time may be right to launch ibA, iboats Anonymous. The first step to beating this addiction is admitting you have a problem.

Those in need of help please state your screen name and declare you addiction to iboats.

I wildmaninal am addicted to Iboats . Mainly just a browsing problem but could also have a posting problems as well .

I couldn't believe it when seeing some of these members, or newer members with over 1500 post already. That also goes for the ones who joined 2 to 5 months ago

Well, I work here as a moderator, so I have a perfectly good reason for posting. Not counting the pay, look at ALL the Perks. I'm sure you have seen the other posts about them.

Re: Members looking for help.....

While I do not have a huge post count, I do have a dual dependency. Both posting useless information and browsing/reading other's posts. I still have yet to officially introduce myself, nor have I stated what types of watercraft I own and enjoy.

It has only been an hour or so since my last posting, but I have read many threads since then. I know with the continued support of my friends and family I can beat these addictions but at this time I am not committed to doing so. This is not my only forum of choice as I also post and browse on sport bike, military, Jeep, and off road sites. In reality there are more than 30 forums that I frequent. I keep track of said forums using RSS feeds and drop down quicklinks found within my net browser of choice, FireFox.

In closing I would like to thank you all for your support and I will relinquish to floor to the next poster.

BTW, I don't even have a dog, I just saw that line in an old Fat Albert cartoon.

I don't post much as many are a heck of a lot smarter than me. But since I am retired, don't have much of a life during winter, I mainly follow 3 1/2 boating forums and two lake forums. Addicted perhaps, but what else do I have to do?

Addicted? Heck no.

I need food, water, sleep and iboats to stay alive. That isn't addiction, it is life maintenance.

Only the cigars, Scotch, Shiner Bock, and British Comedies are addictions and I have no intention of quitting any of them.
