Suck my Wake

I'm surprised it took six pages for "Suck My Wake" to be posted...

You'd think that boat would list a bit more with John Candy in the driver's seat...

Anyone ever seen "A reel waste of time"? I could go for that cuz I can waste time better than most I know. My pontoon is named Working Remotely.

So I just bought a 2013 Bayliner 255CR. We all know Bayliner and what the reputation is. My girlfriend drives a Corolla and I call it an econo box she fired back with you just bought an econo boat. That is her name, Econo Boat. We find it funny, just ordered the stickers....

It seems like there is always a dog on boat, so this seemed like a logical name

Re: Memorable Boat names you have seen

Between our Searay and the Party Cruiser was our 1988 Sun Runner Ultra 252. During that stretch we were camping and boating every weekend. Every friday afternoon was a mad dash home from work to get everything loaded up, trailers or boats hooked up, and blow town to recreate, then do it all in reverse every sunday evening. We used to joke about how much work it took just to kick back for the weekend. One friday in the middle of loading up a friend called and asked what I was doing: "same as every friday, frantically trying to relax!" -- That's where THAT came from, and that's what we named the Sun Runner...

Back to the present- Our SkipperLiner is named "Soft Wind". We've never particularly cared for it, and we're always discussing new names for it. Nothing has really stuck so far.

But today I was reading online somewhere about the characteristics of different metals, and I also ran into some discussions about favorite movies. Then (uh-oh) I got to thinking... Steel hulled boat, plus our love of taking days off to play, equals what may be our boat's new name:

Re: Memorable Boat names you have seen

I have a Lund boat that was powered by an Evinrude outboard, so named it Lundsrude. That was actually the middle name of a friend of mine. Only trouble is, I re-powered it with a Honda.

The little 14' plywood runabout my dad built back in 1960 is named Puddle Jumper. I owned it for a while and now my brother has it. It's home-made trailer uses 2x4s for the frame and sports a Ford Model A axle. The original trailer rollers were rollers out of a ringer washer mounted on pieces of angle iron.

I had an old 73 tri hull ski boat that I owned until the 90's...pretty plain jane and bland named AFRICAN QUEEN and after the QUEEN, Me and a buddy found and restored a 88 19' runabout in pretty bad shape, purchased for $100 and named it the SS POS I only had a total of $1200 in boat/trailer and it was dependable for 8 years until i sold it for $2k.

We joked for years that if we ever bought a Centurion, we would name it "Water-Wick" after the lisping scene in Life of Brian.

We didn't buy a Centurion. :D

So since I just bought my first boat, I've been brain storming with my wife on what to call it. She doesn't really like my best 2:

"Takin her deep"
"Chasing Tail" (where the T is a picture of a fish tail)

C'mon, you can do better than that. I don't blame your wife for not liking them...
