i have an old beautifly running merc model 110 9.8. i wish to change the gear oil in the foot when i drained it it looked dramaticly thicker than the oil in my 225 twins. so i thought id ask rather than ruin the foot. also i think the prop seals are going so i was gona replace those when i did the water pump. not to run on but at the top of the motoar there is a hole marked flush is this to tflush the motoar? its small and i'd have to make a fitting to accomidate a hose.
thanks for the help.

It uses regular 80-90 gearlube and you might be able to find a early flush adapter at a old mercury dealer there are some still around

Pennzoil makes a quart of lower unit fluid that comes with the hose and screw in adapter. WW has it as does Autozone. Go to the www Pennzoil site and you can see what it looks like.

RE: the flush port - check at any boat dealer, you'll probably find a fitting for that, which in turn connects to a water hose. It's a pretty common fitting.
