1974 SN 39xxxxx
I've dismantled and cleaned this carb before, but have never used a rebuild kit ($60 for rebuild vs the $6 gasket kit).
I decided to dismantle and clean again because of some lingering carb issues and this time bit the bullet and bought the rebuild kit.
The carb has two pressed in plugs, one silver and one brass colored - the silver one is quite a bit larger than the brass one. The kit has replacement plugs.
Neither the OEM nor the Seloc manuals I have address the plugs, although from searching these forums I think they're called welch or body channel plugs. I've read differing opinions on whether to mess with them or not.
Should I should remove them and make sure the passages underneath them are clear and clean, or is there another way?
I've searched, but have not found info on how to remove and/or replace them. Can someone give me an idiot's guide for putting new ones in?
Thanks again.
