Merc 110 9.8hp water pump

Hey all, new to the merc forum, I just got a new to me merc 110 9.8 hp, serial # is 7064427, I'm having trouble identifying the year.
The motor hasn't been used in over 5 years, so I put it in a barrel and it started on the second pull, it idled nicely and I noticed no water coming from the pee hole, so I shut it down right away, I'm sure this has been asked a lot , but how do you change the water pump on these, any info or links to procedure would be great.

Thanks for the info, I have a seloc manual for 1965-1979, I just find it confusing cause the water pump procedure is part of the lower unit disassembly, and when they go to reinstall the pump, they start talking about shims etc. I'm hoping that maybe it's just being over complicated , iv done several on old omc motors, this is my first mercury, any tips and advice would be appreciated . On a side note, the manual shows two bolts holding on the lower unit, but doesn't show how to disconnect the shift linkage.

Can anyone tell me if and how the shift linkage is to be disconnected, or do you just remove the 2 bolts and remove the leg.
