Asked a lot of questions on here about carb, 4 str<br />& Optimax last summer. Bought a 04 115 4 Stroke last Sep to replace my 00 115 Carb. Here's is what I noticed:<br /><br />Engine on a Key West 1720 DC, used same prop on new motor--19" Stainless 3 blade w/ no vent holes<br /><br />115 4-stroke turns the prop 5850 at WOT and redline is 6000 RPM<br /><br />115 2-stroke w/ carbs turned the same prop all the way to the 5250 RPM redline, but never over<br /><br />Hole shot seems slightly slower with the 4 stroke, but it's still extremely quick out of the hole--could easily pull up 2 skiers starting slalom<br /><br />4 stroke is very smooth & starts instantly, 2 stroke was a constant pain to start & keep running at no-wake RPMs<br /><br />4-stroke is very impressive<br /><br />Hope this helps if anyone was contemplating a 4 stroke
