Took the boat out yesterday. It started and ran at the dock for about 10 minutes. We took it out through the no wake zone about 5 minutes and ran it nearly wide open for another 10 minutes. When we slowed to cruising/idle it started to run rough and died. It restarted but would die when put into gear. We were able to ease into it and gradually get back up on plane and back to the breakwater before it died again and we used the kicker motor get in. It ran great on plane but wont behave at an idle.
I'm stumped. I've set the dwell, gap, timing,verified the alternator is working, rebuilt the carb,replaced the coil. and know there is fuel to the carb. Also, points are new this season. Any help would be great.
