merc 140 wiring harness. 2 different p/n huge price difference!!!

so im on marine engine and looking up a wiring harness for a merc 140 (1977) and there are 2 wiring harnesses listed. 1 P/N is 84-66962A 1 for 66.80 and the other is 84-86673A 2 for 210 bucks. on perfprotech it says one to use with fuse and the other doesnt specify anything. anyone know what the difference is? maybe i should contact marine engine and ask them?

This may be a stupid question, but if you have questions about another sites parts, why would you ask here and not the site that is selling them?

that and i didnt know they had a forum. plus this is higher volume, seems to be knowledgeable people on here and more of them for a possible better answer. i could contact marine engine but they may not be knowledgeable of the differences as some people may be on here

It really doesn't matter, neither one is available. They have been listed as NLA (No Longer Available) for many years.

Your first part number and price was from a very old parts list.

i could contact marine engine but they may not be knowledgeable of the differences...

Is curious though if you called them as that first part # they show it is 'superceded' (just like Don said) yet they show "3 in stock" Mercury Quicksilver 84-66962A 1 8486673A2 84-66962A 1 @ MarineEngine.com

and the 2nd part # they show as "obsolete" yet this link shows they have "2 in stock". Mercury Quicksilver 84-86673A 2 WIRING HARNESS,NLA 84-86673A 2 @ MarineEngine.com

So either they're great at stocking very old and unavailable parts or their stock/tracking system has some issues.
