Hello,
I have read a few of the related threads for adjustments and I am confused about one thing. When in gear is the prop supposed to ratchet one way and lock the other...for either F and R? I read one thread that said:

"F gear ratchets in one direction (so that the prop will/can freewheel upon deceleration). R locks in place."

I have been trying to re-install the lower end after replacing the impeller and keep getting the "lock" situation for reverse. I called the local shop and they said it was supposed to ratchet in reverse...

Doe s anybody know which is correct? Does it make a difference if the drive is up or down all the way?

fyi,
when I referred to ratcheting I meant in one direction ...and locks in the other.

and when I referred to "locks" in Reverse I meant both ways

thanks
