merc 200l lower unit line up trouble

I remove the lower unit on the 200 with thunderbolt igintion. I took it off to put a new impeller in it and put it bac k up. then i only had reverse. then i took it back of and got it back together and had no pee streem and only foward.

No i cant get it to go back it cant get the water tube to line up and cant get the gear selector to line up the gears in the selector and in the gear in the stick that goes to the lower unit \

whats the easiest way to do it

Hi,

I put the engine in F gear and the LU in F gear and push it in. I get the water tube in the guide so it goes in by it's self. I also put grease on the water tube, drive shaft spline, and shift shaft spline. I turn the prop counter clockwise to engage the drive shaft spline. It can be frustrating but just stay cool and it will go together right.
