Merc 250 trim

My 250 hp merc trim won't hold up when loading on trailer. Seems the force of the motor pushing the trim down. Any suggestions?

Its either the cylinders have an internal leak, or the pump. Don't know your serial number but this should be the parts.

I agree with ALLDODGE, its the cylinders/hydrolic rams leaking thru the ram seals, if you dont see hydrolic fluid leaking out of the ram/rams seals it the hydrolic pump needs to be rebuilt there should be a rebuild kit for the pump out there. one ran was a shock absorber on our force 125hp
Make sure the atf fluid is full in the pump. and no leaks in the hydrolic lines.
This is called T&T leak down
If you need to use the boat before the rebuild kit arrives, put a 2X4 under the motor on the way to the ramp.,

Does it leak down under normal use and only when loading???? If so its normal and you are trimming past the trim rams. When engine is in on the tilt ram it will leak down under pressure to the trim rams and stop.
