Merc 28A restoration

Fly whell ratates,pistons rise and fall, prop turns. Motor is still locked at 10:30 I will fix and install stearing and shift arm and see if it unlocks. I filed and set points at .020 will clean and set plugs at .25? When I get motor to release and swing I plan to spay some quick start in carb and see if I get some spark when I rotate fly wheel and get it to kick over a few lick, what do you think? Did you do the water pump? It'd be a shame to get it running only to cook it.

Hmmmm... Auto-Tranny waterpump replacement. Tape up your knuckles and remove all breakables from within easy reach... If you're on blood-pressure medication - double up and think happy thoughts.<br /><br />I would localize where it's locking up. Try dropping the unit and seeing if it frees up the powerhead. Also, you should be able to manually actuate the shift linkage without the tiller attached.<br /><br />- Scott
