merc 3.0 gear lube monitor

i've been buggin you guys about this motor that i've bout for a while now and I hope you forgive me for it. But any way it was a gear lube monitor on it, it is a clear box that is on the right hand side of the motor when your looking at it from inside the boat, its in front of the motor just above the altinator. what should i do with this thing its not hooked up to anything, should it be? and if so what to and what should i put in it? the outdrive is a pre-alpha i believe but i could be wrong. <br /><br />thanks a lot guys u all r the best,<br /> TJ Thomas

AT some point in time it WAS conncted to the outdrive BUT it sounds like your boat has had some creative repiars done....<br /><br /><br />tommays

the motor in that the moitor is on is brand new never seen the water i dont know what this could tell you but you never know! lol<br /><br />thanks,<br /> TJ Thomas

Creative just means when you mixing old and new <br /><br /> http://www.boatfix.com/merc/Servmanl/6/6A2R3.PDF <br /><br />OK on some of the older drives it was connected like the picture on page 5 <br /><br /><br />You might have to due some work but the drive lube monitor is really a great DRIVE saver as it lets you see quickly when the drive has a leak <br /><br />tommays
